থার্ড ডিভিশনে ম্যাট্রিক পাশ করছি। আইয়ে পাশ করছি তাও এক সাবজেক্টে লজিকে রেফার্ড। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে যখন আসলাম ভর্তি হওয়ার জন্য তখন ভর্তি তো দূরের কথা, ভর্তির ফরমটাও আমাকে দেয় নাই। কিন্তু আল্লাহর কী লীলা খেলা বুঝলাম না, যেই ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ভর্তি হইতে পারলাম না, সেইখানে আমি চ্যান্সেলর হইয়া আসছি। বাংলাদেশে যতোগুলি পাবলিক/প্রাইভেট বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আছে, সবগুলির আমি চ্যান্সেলর। নিজের কথা কী বলবো, ইন্টারমিডিয়েট পরীক্ষা দিয়াই বিয়া একখান কইরা ফালাইছি। এখন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অনেক ছাত্র সংগঠন এর প্রেসিডেন্ট/সেক্রেটারির বয়স ৪৫-৫০ বছর। ২৫/২৬ বছরকে বিয়ের বয়স ধরা হয়। ২৫ বছরে কেউ যদি বিয়া করে, তাহলে ৫০ বছর বয়সে তার এক সন্তানেরই তো বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়ার কথা। বাপ-পুত মিলাই ইউনিভার্সিটিতে থাকার কথা। বাপ নেতা আর ছেলে ছাত্র। এটা হইতে পারে না। এখন বলতে পারেন, কিছুদিন আগে রেলমন্ত্রী বিয়া করছেন। এটা রেয়ার কেস। অসময়ের কিছু সবসময় ভালো হয় না। মৌসুমের কাঁঠাল যে মজা লাগে পরের কাঁঠাল এতো মজা লাগে না। এই ছিলো ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ৫০তম সমাবর্তন অনুষ্ঠানে মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতির মারাত্মক হাস্য রসাত্মক বক্তব্য!
